OASIS-D1: Define, Detail, Discover
Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify guidance on OASIS items used for payment in PDGM
2. Identify guidance on OASIS items used for the Quality of Care Star rating
3. Describe one tip to ensure accurate OASIS assessment and responses
4. Compare and contrast ADL/IADL items in the M1800s with the GG items
Program Description:
This is a comprehensive 2-day view of the current OASIS-D1. While the OASIS Guidance manual has not been revised, there are new Q&As, COVID-19 waivers and the CARES Act that update guidance on many items. The focus is on OASIS items used for the functional score in PDGM (payment items), the items used to calculate the Quality of Care Star rating and VBP scores, and other items that present challenges to field staff and reviewers. A comparison of the M1800 ADL/IADL items and the GG items, latest guidance on wound items, key items used for IMPACT Act and other quality measures, OASIS time points required by PDGM, including correct use of the ROC and Other Follow-Up, and the impact of COVID-19 waivers on OASIS guidance (what’s temporary and what’s here to stay) will all be included. Lisa and Teresa provide the guidance, Q&A updates, assessment tips and plenty of scenarios to apply and test your knowledge of OASIS.
New feature: Viewpoints of the Clinician and Reviewer: recommended documentation by the clinician and what the OASIS reviewer needs to look for to support OASIS responses, avoid downcoding and payment loss!
This is a FULL OASIS class. Whether you are new to OASIS, or just need an overview of changes and a refresher of the key items, this class is for you!
