Obesity is the most devastating epidemic in America today. It’s past time that we take a real look at America’s obesity crisis. The obesity statistics continue to worsen and healthcare providers must lead the charge to help overcome this growing epidemic. The reality, cost and ineffectiveness of chasing co-morbidities is not only hurting the individuals suffering from this epidemic, but also the businesses involved. The steps to fix this epidemic are right in front of us, we just need to start using them and dramatically increase personal accountability.
During this presentation we will explore the scientific tools of the body composition analysis and genetic testing to show how truly unique each individual is. From there we will go into detail on the importance of Strategic Eating. Putting focus on providing the body with the right nutrients based on an individual’s genetic testing. We will also look at other points, including; how the body responds physiologically to certain exercises, the need for proper supplementation to help achieve optimal health, and the importance of support and accountability for individuals as they journey towards a healthier lifestyle. Why is this important? It's simple, if an older adult follows a good nutritional program and exercises, they can stay home longer, fight depression and keep a healthy attitude.
Communication is core to the way we deliver healthcare. Over time a gap has been created between the way we communicate in our personal lives and the way we communicate medical information. Improving the way clinicians communicate care is an important piece on modernizing healthcare delivery. Playback Health is a mobile platform that allows synchronous telehealth as well as an asynchronous video, audio and text content creation engine. This allows providers to communicate with patients and their families as well as the individual patient “care teams” utilizing their own mobile devices to improve the sharing of critical real time patient care information in the time of greatest need. As we look to technology to help solve some of our biggest challenges in healthcare focused on adding to the patient / provider bond.
