This one-day program provides the basic foundation to home health and hospice diagnosis coding and is the first step to successfully and accurately coding. This course provides instruction on the ICD-10-CM Coding Conventions and Guidelines and applies the conventions and guidelines to simple coding situations. The selection of primary and other secondary diagnoses for home health, including the impact of the Conditions of Participation, OASIS guidance and PDGM will be discussed. The chapter-specific guidelines are presented for common home health conditions, including infections, neoplasms, diabetes, circulatory,
neurological and respiratory diagnoses, as well as common injuries and complications. Examples and practice scenarios will ensure understanding.
